Description:The Constructive Teaching Centre was established in 1960 by Walter Carrington as the new home for F.M.Alexander's original training course which he was supervising at the time of Alexander's death.
Note:Candidates for admission must be of good health, character and education. Since Alexander teachers are often called upon to work with people of widely differing ages, needs and interests, almost any form of previous training and experience can be an advantage; but none is essential.
A thorough course of instruction in the Technique however, on a basis of individual lessons is presumed.
Candidates may be admitted to the Course for a Probationary Term, during which their suitability for the training can be assessed.

Alexander Technique on the Greek Island of Alonnisos

Greek Island of Alonnisos

Description:Alexander on Alonnisos is in its 8th year and in 2008 we are opening the workshop to the general public as well as to teachers and trainees.
In the morning we will walk down mule tracks and swim in the blue Aegean waters, explore the Technique with hands-on and in the evening continue our learning under the pine trees in discussion and play, or at the villa overlooking sea and islands. The afternoons will be left free for you to rest reflect and explore the island - or take lessons in the Shaw Swimming Method at one of the local beaches. There is also an early morning yoga session available and optional boat trips to swim under the stars and social gatherings at the village tavernas.

The program (for up to ten people each week) will run from Saturday to Thursday – Fridays being arrival and departure day.
There will be free time in the program for boat trips, exploration or pure holidaying.
Each course is self contained, but beginners may choose to attend the first week or the combined two week course.
Note:Alonnisos
Is a quiet Greek island of herbs, pine forests, olive groves, boat taxis, a sunken village, tavernas, dolphins and crystal clear sea. Great for snorkelling, swimming, and doing nothing!

Costs and Booking
The prices given are in euros and include shared self catering accommodation and the full program of Alexander
Technique sessions.
Prices do not include travel to Alonnisos. Advice on travelling to the island is available when making enquiries or bookings.
